We’re so excited to introduce the latest hardware wallet to Coinstop, the CoolWallet Pro. The CoolWallet Pro is Taiwanese tech company CoolBitX’s new, enhanced version of its predecessor, the CoolWallet S. The Pro comes with a higher industry-approved security rating than the S, supports more cryptos and has more memory to facilitate a handful of exciting new features.
Its main purpose, though, is still the same as any other hardware wallet – to securely hold your cryptos’ private keys in ‘cold storage’. In other words, it keeps the means of access to your precious digital assets offline, in your hands, and as safe as possible from thieving hackers.
The initial setup of the Coolwallet Pro is straightforward and should only take a few minutes. Here’s how to get started.
Step 1: DOWNLOAD THE COOLBITX CRYPTO WALLET APP
Step 2: INSERT THE COOLWALLET INTO THE CHARGER
The card must be charging during the initial set up as well as when updating firmware
A single charge takes roughly 4 hours and the charge will last 2-3 weeks
Step 3: PAIR YOUR DEVICES
Open the CoolBitX Crypto Wallet App and pair with your CoolWallet via military-grade encrypted bluetooth.
Follow the steps indicated – Input the one-time password and confirm the pairing by pressing the button on your card.
Step 4: CREATE YOUR WALLET
To create a new wallet, you need to generate a new seed with either a 12, 18, or 24 number set. (We recommend a 24 number set for the highest level of security)
Write down the generated seed on the provided Recovery Card. This seed set serves as the backup for your device, and you can use it to restore your funds if you lose access to your CoolWallet or your phone.
As you write down the seed, carefully confirm that each set is written down correctly. You are only shown this once, and it is very important that you have it written down correctly and in the correct order.
Step 5: VERIFY THE SEED
A verification process will appear on the app to ensure you’ve written down the correct seed. Simply add up all the numbers in your seed and type in the sum above the yellow line. Press “Verify” to confirm the sum.
Step 6: SELECT CRYPTOCURRENCIES
During the wallet generation process, select the cryptocurrencies you would like to add to the wallet.
Step 7: ADDRESS CONFIRMATION
Choose whether you would like to enable the address confirmation feature for future outgoing transactions. This feature allows you to confirm the receiving address on the card before completing each transaction.
Step 8: ENABLE OTHER TOKENS
Congratulations! You have successfully created your wallet. To enable other tokens, please click the Manage Wallet icon located in the top right-hand corner.
